Ep. 22 - Reclaiming Your Nervous System

Some people just have a highly sensitive nervous system and it doesn’t help that our world is one that is designed to constantly pull us into a sympathetic (fight or flight) state.

In today’s episode, I asked my amazing colleague, Dr. Kayla Clarke to shed some light on how we can align our body and mind with the demands of this fast-paced world, even when anxiety tries to throw us off track.

Kayla shares her personal journey of navigating anxiety, starting from a young age when she was diagnosed with OCD, panic disorder, and agoraphobia. She opens up about the process of de-conditioning the labels that were placed upon her and discovering her own truth beyond those diagnoses.

As an empath and highly sensitive person, Kayla has learned to feel things deeply and embrace the energy that moves through her body. She challenges the notion that anxiety is something to be fixed or controlled, but rather an energy that can be acknowledged and allowed to flow through us. Which I love - obviously!!!

It's time to embrace all of who we are, honour our sensitivity, and find that sweet spot of resilience in the face of anxiety.
